Whenever travelers think of Australia, they usually think of Sydney and the cities on the east coast. Perth is located in Western Australia, the largest city in WA actually. I would consider Perth a growing modern city full of activities, unique restaurants, and intriguing street art!
Kody and I planned a short weekend trip to Fremantle, a lively little city just outside of Perth’s Central Business District (called the CBD). “Freo” is full of culture, art, festivities, and it just has a quaint and wonderful atmosphere. Many people from Perth, describe Freo as a city to sit and sip coffee.
When planning our trip to the outback, we hoped to do some “bush” camping during our three months stay. A few weeks after we arrived in the Perth Hills, Kody purchased a two person Oz Trail tent, perfect for a camping adventure from Amazon.au. One thing to note, purchasing larger items from the Australian Amazon requires signed permission for drop off.
Kody, my nerdy boyfriend, received a summer research position at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. I, of course, decided to tag along and we left at the beginning of the summer of 2016 for a 3 month stay. We purchased our plane tickets through American Airlines but when we arrived in LA we boarded the Australian airline Quantas.
